You asked for it, you got it! I didn't think women would use a shampoo "bar", but I was wrong! I was asked to make a shampoo bar, and this one has all the stuff in it, (and none of the synthetic detergents, chemicals and parabins) that I want to use on my hair, so I figured it would have all the goodies that you'd want to use on your hair, too. You knew that all good shampoos really cleanse and nourish the scalp, didn't you. Oily hair comes from excess sebum. Jojoba nut oil used for skin and hair care for hundreds of years here in the Southwest, is similar in chemical structure to our own sebum, secreted by our sebaceous glands and helps to lubricate and protect our skin and hair. It dissolves clogged pores in the scalp and returns both scalp and hair to natural pH balance. It acts as a humectant by creating a protective film over skin and hair shaft that seals in moisture. It's non-greasy and penetrates quickly.
Hazelnut Oil has a solid reputation for treatment of dry, damaged hair by virtue of its essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and proteins that soothe, nourish and moisturize, penetrating without leaving a greasy feel. It has been found through studies to filter the UV rays of the sun and has been commonly been used in tanning lotions. We use it in our shampoo bar for those reasons.
And Essential Oil of Rosemary has been used for centuries in hair care. We now know it contains many vitamins and minerals that nourish the hair and scalp, keeping dandruff at bay and leaving your hair glossy and full of life.
